You can basically start at any point along the trail and ride for as long as you want. Click through to RunKeeper.com for more photos along the path.

>Topeka, KS (West starting point is at Fairlawn & 28th)
>Biking/Run-walk/rollerblading
>Mostly sidewalk, but if you're on a bike take the Nature Trail after you pass Gage...you'll get lost with all the options, but just stay right the entire time and you'll keep your adventure longer.

Camping along Beartooth Highway

While most folks visiting the area will congregate toward Yellowstone. The Adventure Whores should head east and west at sunset. Here you will find abundant, free, unrestricted camping in Gattalin National Forest.

It is here that I found the greatest campsite in the United States.

Picture at Stinson Beach

Known to be one of the cloudiest beaches in the bay area, checking the weather before departure is a must. Forecasted  "abundant sunshine" is rare but the best sign of a good time. Don't let the fog and clouds rolling over the extensive, winding road fool you;  the drive is well worth it once you sink your toes into the warm sand. (Warning: Do not attempt this drive hungover, you will not enjoy it.)

Don't let the fog and clouds rolling over the extensive, winding road fool you;  the drive is well worth it once you sink your toes into the warm sand.

If you join the masses on a Saturday make sure to leave early (11AM latest) otherwise the traffic will cut back your beach time. Picture it: sitting in your car for over an hour, the sun and sand within view - torture. Sundays are far less crowded, far less traffic.

>Parking: There's never enough parking on the best days of sun, yet another reason to plan ahead. Marin County police rack up their parking ticket quota as you're not allowed to park on the sides of the highway - $65 fine. Try working your way through the web of nearby neighborhoods for a good spot, though some residents have signs warding off beach goers. If you get there early there's a large parking lot close to the water as well as an expansive lawn with a number of grills for a nice day of beach and bbq.

>Dog: If your canine is in tow, head right once you reach the sand. Leashes seem to be required but not enforced.

>Booze: Alcohol is prohibited but also not enforced. Forgot something? There's a (somewhat high end) convenience store across the street. Hungry? Grab a burger, corn dog, banana split at the snack shack.

Last Cast at Pardee Reservoir

Looking west toward the harbor.

The water is very clear as it goes on to the east bay for drinking water so utilize clear water fishing tactics: clear bobbers, lower pound test line, subtle colors on your lures. Also focus on casting the shaded areas as fish will avoid the direct sunlight.

Kastmasters are said to work wonders here year after year.
